I Spy...

While photographing at the Missouri Botanical Gardens ealier this year, I saw this little guy. He seemed to be watching me so I took this picture when he turned toward me. I'm not sure what he is. Does anybody have any ideas?

Er... a moth? Apologies, I'm no entymologist, but I'm safely certain it's not a butterfly.

This is a lovely photo! The focus on such a small creature is admirable!

could it be a little cricket [cicada/grasshopper]?

It's a butterfly in the family Hesperiidae, Skippers. As I'm in the UK I can't do the species, it might be a Common Skipper.

Great picture, I just love it! I'm not very good with macros.

While I'm here I thought I'd let you know that I have moved my site on to Wordpress, unfortunately that means it's time to update those links again.......sorry.

The Wiki that you can use to copy and paste the links into your template/sidebar is very simple and usefull.

I also think it is a butterfly, not with large colourful wings, but very beautiful. Its legs does not seem to be like grasshopper´s.. So lovely photo! Greetings from "Maikki"

I am still trying to put the picture of missing UK little girl Madeleine's face into the minds of many, so, if your readers would pop over to Cheltenham to have a look i'd be grateful. You never know she could be in your road or mine by now. We can all look! Thanks.

I believe it is a moth, which usualy are more active at night, so I am guessing he is taken a rest preparing to hunt for food once the sun goes down.
