Serenity

I took this photo in August while at the Missouri Botanical Gardens here in STL. There was a glass show over the summer and this red piece was part of the exhibit. I really like the way the red color reflects in the water. It is still really cold here in STL and many are still without power. I thought this would be a nice break from the cold. Tomorrow I will begin posting some of the picures that I took after we ventured out into the cold and ice.

Looks great - did it cost a lot of Monet to get in? :)

Greetings from St. Paul, Minnesota! And, I bet that glass piece is a Dale Chihuly, right? I adore the work of that man!! Very pretty photo; good composition. I'd like to add my welcome to you as you join the daily photo family!

Kate in St. Paul tipped me off that there is a little bit of Seattle dangling over the water in your photo today. That sure looks like a Chihuly piece, even from a distance. He is the most well known glass artist from the Pacific Northwest and a Seattle native son.

Welcome to the City Daily Photo community! My faves of your photos so far are the arch reflections and the wonderful parking meters! I look forward to getting to know your city. A friend's son is a news photo journalist in SL, so I've wanted to see some of the turf he covers. Have fun with it!

Yes this is a Chihuly piece his exhibit was here for a few months and all his pieces were very beautiful. There was a special "night" viewing of his work where many pieces were lit but I was unable to go in time to take some pictures... :-( I know they would have been beautiful. Again thanks everyone for the warm welcome!!!

This really is the nicest picture in your blog, worth coming back twice to check again!

I didn't realise that it could get so cold in St. Louis, is the ice and snow unusual?
